The summer rush is over, We have had our own holiday and now we are reviewing the long summer season. Looking through our three guest books (one each for the Pod, Guest Room and Campervan) there are some beautiful comments. I have put the last pages of each book on our Testimonials page. We are looking forward to welcoming guests Corcoran's Pod and the Guest Room throughout the winter months.

We are now in cool, wet and windy winter weather but this has not deterred our hardy Pod guests who have had great stays. Here are two photos taken from the doorway of the Pod showing some of the newly planted garden.

Summer is Here
There is a saying here - "It never rains but it pours". Well, unusally for Ireland, it hasn't rained more than a couple of light dampenings for 3 or 4 weeks now and the garden is showing the signs. We ran out of our saved rain water some time ago and are trying to conserve the water from our well by using "brown water" - that is already used water - for essential garden watering. All this means that our guests have been able to enjoy unprecedented good weather for their holidays. Thus another saying - "Every cloud has a silver lining" :).

Summer is Coming
The miserable winter has now passed and we are looking forward to a fine summer. Tig Lammax's garden had received a wonderful makeover this year with new shrubberies and a small copse of trees planted directly in the eyeline from Corcoran's Pod. I think Timmy Corcoran, the man who built the property in 1901, would be pleased with what we have done. There is now a pathway all around the garden as well as a paved path from the Pod all the way to the Outhouse. The area behind the house has been turned into a patio and the ground directly in front of the Pod has now been leveled and covered in gravel beyond which are new flower beds.

Despite the cold weather, bookings for Corcoran's Pod have been at a record high for the month of February. It's no surprise because the Pod is warm and cosy and now has a new outlook as we had our garden redesigned by landscaper Ger O'Sullivan in January. We continue to receive wonderful comments from our guests. For example, Aym, Karine and William from Ballincollig wrote "For a first time in a pod, we had a great time! As cosy as it is funky, that's one experience we will be looking to repeat. Thanks for everything!". Bernat, Yago, Ivo and Lola from Barcelona wrote: "Thank you for everything. Your Pod is so cute and comfortable."

Winter is here
Winter is upon us - but that doesn't mean that you should stay at home in front of the fire. Ireland is beautiful at all times of the year, and as I write this I am looking out on a lovely blue sky with dappled white clouds. Our guest room is warm and welcoming, and Corcoran's Pod is cosy and secluded, giving you the privacy that you may seek. So don't hesitate, just click on that booking link! We will love to see you.

End of August
In Ireland, schools have gone back, so the number of guests from Ireland have reduced considerably. This means that it is now much easier to book your short stay with us for the days that you want. We are staying open until the beginning of October when we are taking a 2-week break to recover from a record tourist season. Thanks to the over 600 guests who have made 2017 a record year. We look forward to hosting you again.
